De-privileging Access to Resources: Working with Communities of Color in Utah, presented by Stephany Murguia, Flor Olivo, Cathleen Power, Tina Groves
Friday, September 22, 2017 – 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Presenters seek to create a collective dialogue that examines intersectional oppression and privilege, focusing on the experiences of girls and women of color. Through an interactive workshop, we will discuss how organizations create policies and practices that label people within communities of color as deserving or undeserving of services, opportunities, and information. We will ask ourselves what this means and how we can move as community workers, educators, and therapists to be more inclusive.
