Learn the relationship between imagery, the brain, and trauma and how an art therapist’s unique training and skill set allows them to more easily and in many cases safely access this information for clients’ healing. You will also have the opportunity to engage in art for yourself and learn from this non-verbal process in the present moment. Case examples will be illustrated along with learning how you can collaborate with an art therapist for your client’s benefit. As clinicians we are containers for these traumas and need outlets for processing vicarious trauma. Learn how using art can be beneficial for your own self-care.
